It’s not every day that you walk into a salon and you know it is the place you want to come back to every time you want some TLC. Panache Salon in Malad did just that to me. Located in a plush and buzzing space near Inorbit mall and an array of beauty salons around in the vicinity, the salon sure seems to shine through and hold its own. With a staff that is not just well informed and forthcoming but also sociable and friendly, I was impressed.
The brand The three directors of the salon, Satish Saraf, Ayesha Baig and Poonam Saraf wanted to create a brand, which catered to not only the high end spenders but also had services for the college goers who indulge in salon treatments out of their pocket money without having to compromise on the quality of service. While Satish is a commercially – astute finance whizkid with over 3 decades of experience in a Financial consulting environment, Ayesha has been associated with the beauty and wellness industry for the past 12 years and Poonam an accomplished Marketing Communications professional with more than a decade’s experience in management of marketing and PR campaigns. Bringing the trio’s expertise together Panache was created in 2014.
Philosophy Panache’s tagline, “Feel Special” summarises everything that the brand stands for. With a philosophy that strongly believes that every customer that walks out of the salon feeling delighted, the salon is a customer’s paradise. From the elegant décor or staff etiquette, or salon services, or customer care, it holds the customer’s comfort in priority.
Décor The décor is inspired by a basic thought of keeping it simple yet adhering to the high standards of sophistication and practicality. Refraining from overtly decorative elements the salon has rather focused on the practicality by playing with three colours, white, black and fuchsia pink. The white walls exudesa serene feeling and enhances the sprawling 3000 sq ft area. The salon is well lit up, apart from which a 50 feet glass frontage lets in ample natural sunlight to stream in. The elements of pink represent confidence, nurturing and TLC befitting for what it stands for.
Staff and treatments Poonam says, “When we hire, it is mandatory for all to undergo induction training and orientation program, soft skills program designed by us. The therapists and stylists undergo basic training on brands and machines used in our salon, client consultation and etiquette etc. Besides this, a regular training on new products introduced in salon, plus refresher training on existing brands and products is a part of an employee training calendar.”
The salon menu provides ample options to the clients for hair, skin and make up services ranging from very basic to high – end treatments for all three sections. Elegant Egg oil therapy, Sea water pearl facial treatment, Age Control Raspberry treatment and Signature smoothening treatment for hair are some of the treatment amongst others.
USP What more salons tend to overlook is what Panache holds most important. Poonam further states, “Small things like how you treat a threading thread or keeping records of choices in beverages of our loyal clients etc. are taken care of by our trained staff. We have created a little relaxation spot for our staff members in the garden area, where the staff and customers can retire while they relax in their free time or wait for their turn.”
In the offing Going ahead, the salon plans to open 8 to 10 more salons in next 2 years. They also intend to introduce newer technology in the coming months especially in the hair sector. They also want to grow their academy and equip as many students as possible with the requisite skills, knowledge and make them job ready.
