The game of Golf has always been considered the game of the elite. However, a lot of golf resorts are making the game far more relaxing to play by combining them with premium spas within a single luxury property. The trend is fast catching up in India, with most major cities introducing golf and spa resorts. And some spas have even developed special treatments which clients can indulge in, after a taxing game.
Spa Mantra takes a look at golf and spa resorts that have become increasingly popular and checks out what they have to offer clients.
1) Cambay Golf Resort, Jamdoli, Jaipur
Located at Jamdoli near Jaipur, Cambay Golf Resort is an upscale property spread over an area of 1,61,869 sq. feet. The resort has a business centre, spa, swimming pool, fitness centre and a golf course, which is a 9-hole, par 29 executive golf course. The environmentally-sound golf course is revolutionary in concept, and based on a design principle in which water utilization is approximately 15% of that of traditional courses built on the same space. Cambay, The Resort houses the Orient Spa, which reflects the expression ‘wellness, fitness and makeover,’ as its core element. The spa treatments are divided into Ayurvedic massages like Abhyangam, Choornam Kizhi and Shirodhara, Massages from the world like Classic Swedish, Aroma Sense, Men’s Exclusive – Deep Tissue massage and Thai Aroma, along with sections like Rapid Action and Scalp and Hair treatments.
2) Gokarna Forest Golf Resort & Spa, Nepal
This Golf Resort and Spa is operated by Le Meridien. The Gokarna Forest Resort boasts of South Asia’s finest, and one of the world’s most spectacular golf resort courses. It has been crafted by leading architect David Mclay Kidd and the golf resort is par 72. The Harmony Spa includes a variety of rejuvenating courses, emphasizing Ayurvedic treatments and meditation. The health club comprises an indoor temperature-controlled pool, and the changing rooms each have a sauna, steam room, and Jacuzzi.
3) The Lalit Golf &Spa Resort, Goa
Designed by Col K D Bagga, a disciple of master golf designer, Alister Mackenie, The Goa Golf Greens is the largest and the only international standard golf course in Goa. It is a 9-hole double T golf course, with 18 gents and 9 ladies Tees, playing to par 36, from each set. Like all other Lalit properties, it has a sprawling Rejuve – The Spa which offers Aroma, Ayurvedic, herbal and natural therapies and the patented colour healing.
4) Jaypee Greens Golf & Spa Resort, Noida
Jaypee Greens Golf & Spa Resort is India’s first 18-hole Golf Course, designed by the legendary Greg Norman. The golf section covers 452.36 acres of land. Its 72 par course is India’s longest golf course, standing at 7347 yards. Another exciting feature is the lakes along with 88 snow-white bunkers, carpeted with Bermuda Evergreen on the fairways and Tifdwarf on the greens. The Six Senses Spa at the resort is equally lavish, spread over 90,000 sq. feet. The Six Senses Spas’ philosophy of balancing all the senses is creatively represented in the spa menu, which features nurturing and soothing treatments as well as result-oriented therapies and personalized programmes administered under the guidance of expert therapists.
5) Jebel Ali Golf Resort & Spa, Dubai
The award-winning Jebel Ali Golf Resort & Spa features two hotels – the beautiful Palm Tree Court and Spa and the original Jebel Ali Hotel. The resort has a championship-standard 9-hole golf course and academy. The 10-treatment room luxury Spa offers plenty of pampering treatments. The other major attraction is the resort’s own private beach. Jebel Ali Golf Resort & Spa is also in the news for the number of Bollywood stars it attracts. The latest being that actress Kareena Kapoor chose the venue for the press conference of her new movie ‘Heroine.’
6) Heritage Le Telfair, Mauritius
Heritage Le Telfair, Mauritius is named after a famous naturalist, Charles Telfair who lived in the area where the resort is built, during the 19th century. Heritage Le Telfair features luxurious ocean facing rooms, a fitness centre, kids’ club, golf course and a spa. The resort has an 18 hole “Heritage Golf Club” attached to it. The golf course covers 100 hectares, and has been designed by architect Peter Matkovich, of Peter Matkovich and Hayes. The Spa has an interesting name – it’s called the Seven Colours Spa and the treatments offered there are inspired by the wisdom of ancient natural healing techniques. When you, an End User, copy content from a Publisher Site and paste it into another document, the Services that have been installed on the Publisher Site may, at the publishers discretion, automatically append a link back to the original content. We do not knowingly collect or maintain PII from any individuals – especially individuals who are under 13 years of age, and no part of our Site or Services are designed to attract people under the age of 13.
