A new addition to Gurgaon’s burgeoning spa scene, The Heavenly Spa at The Westin offers long and short term guests a new experience of this already energetic city. Known as the ‘call centre hub’ of the country, life in this city, like any metro city, moves at a fast pace. People seldom get time to rest and relax their bodies and minds. Invigorating the senses and replenishing the soul, the spa provides a perfect escape from everyday. Like an urban oasis, the body, mind and soul.
Location
With approximately 21,000 corporate headquarters and many shopping malls buzzing with activities throughout the day, it is the perfect location for a spa. Its proximity to the Indira Gandhi International Airport (just 15 minutes drive from the hotel) also works as an added bonus, making Westin one of the preferred choices for high-flyers. Ideally located yet secluded from the hustle and bustle of the city, the spa has been smartly positioned off the Lower Lobby of the hotel. As you take the lift and go down, the feeling of going to another level of calmness and serenity takes over you, invoking a sense of peace and relaxation.
Concept
Justifying its name, the Heavenly Spa is known to indulge you in every way. In every area of the spa, there is an opportunity to experience harmonious, sensorial, sumptuous and peaceful moments. Speaking about the philosophy of the spa, Spa Director, Hollis Beckwith says, “The aim is to create an inspiringly serene environment that helps in renewing the spirit of the guests. The décor echoes elegance and regeneration through its lighting, its essence and with the services offered. Our endeavour is to create a sensorial experience that uplifts guests mentally, physically and spiritually, by engaging and stimulating each of the five senses.” Indeed, spelling the best in luxury and relaxation, the spa successfully creates a city sanctuary of wellness for the stressed souls.
Unwind
Spread over a generous area of 17,000 sq. ft., the spa boasts of 10 treatment rooms including two couples suites, one with a couples infinity tub and one with a floating aqua table, a specially appointed Ayurvedic studio named ‘Mudra’ and a Thai massage studio called ‘Nuat Boran’. The spa also features the most sophisticated and all-exclusive wet area including separate men’s and women’s hydrotherapy lounges with whirlpool, rain shower, steam & sauna, a hammam-style body treatment room, which can also be converted in a Vichy table and massage room. Further informs Hollis, “Soon we will be creating a mineral water treatment pool in this wet area. The water will be filled with the goodness of mineral salt, known to contain magnesium and potassium, which help reduce muscular stress.” The area also features a separate room for indulgent foot spa treatments. With three pools, it can be the perfect place to have some good time with friends, while indulging in a stimulating fish spa. A hair and nails salon completes the spa, alongside the WWO center, ample lap pool with separate lockers and showers, and a Kids’ Club.
Design
Capturing the best in design and luxury, the decor of The Heavenly Spa is an ideal example of minimalistic yet soothing approach towards spa design. Throughout the spa, the use of artefacts, Budha paintings, subtle use of colour green and other natural elements create a soft, peaceful and welcoming environment for completel rejuvenation. The uplifting music, calming aroma of white tea and the soft guiding lights simply enhance the tranquility of it’s soul-nourishing ambience. Explains Hollis, “Every detail has been carefully orchestrated! Upon entering the spa, the guests are moved by the serenity of the surroundings. Whenever possible, indigenous, natural beauty is incorporated into the esthetic of the spa and is enhanced by unique design features, including diffusers and candle displays. Subtly, all the senses are touched and relaxation begins.” Further heightening your spa experience, each spa room is individually themed and beautifully furnished to create a truly healing experience. “Here, even the walls invite you to touch”, she sums up.
